We're an independent, locally-run guide to Chatswood — built by people who live and eat here, queue for the morning coffee on Victoria Avenue, and know which Mandarin Centre stall is worth the wait and which dumpling spot to slip into on a Friday night.
What Chatswood.xyz is
Chatswood.xyz is a hand-kept guide to the best of Chatswood: where to eat and drink, the best cafés and brunch spots, where to shop and find local services, and where to stay and explore the area. We're not a council site or an automated scraper — just locals who got tired of repeating the same recommendations and decided to write them down.
Who's behind it
We're a small, independent team based in and around Chatswood. Between us we've done the Victoria Avenue coffee run more mornings than we'd admit, queued for dumplings and bubble tea in the Mandarin Centre, lost whole afternoons between Westfield and Chatswood Chase, and caught more than a few shows at The Concourse — so the recommendations here come from genuine local experience, not a media kit.
How we choose what to list
- Local first. We list businesses that genuinely operate in Chatswood and the surrounding North Shore.
- Recommended, not advertised. Standard listings are free and editorial — a business can't pay to be called good.
- Licensed & legitimate. For trades and regulated services, we ask for the relevant NSW licence details.
- Kept current. We review listings regularly and remove places that close or consistently let people down.
- Clearly labelled. Anything sponsored or affiliate-linked is marked Featured so you always know what you're looking at.
How we stay free (and make money)
Chatswood.xyz is free to use and always will be. We cover our costs in two transparent ways:

Where we cover
Chatswood is our focus — the malls, the Mandarin Centre, Victoria Avenue and the streets around them — with the surrounding North Shore close behind: Willoughby, Artarmon, Lane Cove, Roseville and Lindfield.
